Is it Haram to Hit Someone in the Face?

Islam is a religion that values human life and dignity and hitting a person in the face can cause serious physical and psychological problem. Hitting the face is not allowed in Islam unless if it is done for a necessity such as self defense
“If any one of you has a fight with his brother, let him avoid the face.”(Muslim)
The above hadith is about fighting a Muslim seriously and boxing is done for sport and is not serious.
Narrated AbuHurayrah:
The Prophet (sal) said: “When one of you inflicts a beating, he should avoid striking the face.”(Abu Dawud-Graded Sahih by Albani)
Nowadays slapping someone is common and this is haram in Islam because it causes a lot of emotional and physical damage. Islam hold the face as sacred and protected prom harm and is also included for other living beings as well. The following hadiths explain it further.
Ibn 'Abbas (sal) said:
“An ass with a brand on the face happened to pass before the Prophet (sal). Thereupon he said, "May Allah curse the one who has branded it (on the face)." (Muslim)
Jabir told that God’s messenger forbade striking the face and branding on the face.(Muslim)
Narrated AbuHurayrah:
The Prophet (sal) said: “When one of you inflicts a beating, he should avoid striking the face. “(Abu Dawud-Graded Sahih by Albani)
Striking the face under necessity
In Islam, haram becomes halal under necessity and under circumstances such as self defence or fighti ng an enemy, it is halal to strike the face. Allah (swt) says,
"He hath only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and that on which any other name hath been invoked besides that of Allah. But if one is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits,- then is he guiltless. For Allah is Oft-forgiving Most Merciful." (Al-Quran 2:178)
He has only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and any (food) over which the name of other than Allah has been invoked. But if one is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits,- then Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."
(Al Quran-16:115)
"Narrated Anas (Rali):
The Prophet (sal) allowed `Abdur-Rahman bin `Auf and Az-Zubair bin Al-`Awwam to wear silk because they were suffering from an itch" .
(Sahih Al Bukhari)
In this hadith, the prophet(Sal) allowed Abdur Rahman bin auf and Zubair bin Awwam to wear silk because they had an itch. Generally wearing silk is haram for men except for embroidery or in small amouts but the prophet (Sal) allowed silk for the two sahabi due to a reason.
The prophet (Sal) said,
"Allah has forgiven my nation for mistakes and forgetfulness, and what they are forced to do."
(Ibn Majah- Graded Sahih by Albani in Sahih Sunan Ibn Majah and narrated by Baihaqi and others and graded Hasan Sahih by Albani )
