Is It Haram to Look at Your Private Part in the Mirror?
C.J Ahmed-13.04.2023
Looking at your private parts is not a sin in Islam whether it is doe through a mirror or by just looking at it. You can look, touch and even fondle with your private pats andthere is nothing haram in it. Below are a few hadiths relating to this,
Narrated Talq bin ‘Ali (rali):
A man said: “I touched my penis” or he said, “Does a man who touch his penis during the prayer should perform Wudu (ablution)?” The Prophet (sal) replied, “No, it is only a part of your body”. (Bulugh al Maram and reported by Al-Khamsa-Ibn Hibban graded it Sahih (authentic)).
Some try to argue that this hadith is abrogated but there is no valid proof from the authentic hadiths which states that the prophet (sal) abrogated it.
Narrated Talq:
“We came upon the Prophet of Allah (sal). A man came to him: he seemed to be a bedouin. He said: Prophet of Allah, what do you think about a man who touches his penis after performing ablution? He (sal) replied: That is only a part of his body.(Abu-Dawud-Graded Sahih by Albani)
Inauthentic hadiths narrating that the prophet (sal) never looked at Aisha’s private parts
There are several weak and inauthentic hadiths which state that the prophet (sall) never looked at his wife, Aisha (rali)’s private and vice verse. The hadiths are as follows,
A'isha said, “I never looked at (or, I never saw) God’s Messenger’s private parts.” –This hadith was narrated by Ibn Majah and Sheikh Albani graded it daif (weak)
A’isha said:
“I never looked at the private parts of Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace).” (Or she said: “I never saw the private parts of Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace).”-This hadith was narrated in Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah 358 and is a weak narration due to its it’s narrator, Zubair `Aliza'I been weak and this hadith was not narrated directy from Aisha (rali). It was narrated from a slave of Aisha(rali).
Aishah said: "I never looked at (or I never saw) the private part of the Messenger of Allah."(Ibn Majah-This hadith is also weak and one of the narrators Abu Bakr also know as Ibn Abu Shaibah said: "Abu Nu'aim would say: '(From) a freed female slave of 'Aisha (rali) and it wasn’t directly narrated from her. None of the hadiths which state that popeht (sal) neer saw Aisha (rali)’s private is weak and the hadiths are not at all authentic.
