2 Superb Proofs Why Permanent Bracelets Are Fully Halal in Islam
C.J Ahmed-24.04.2023
Permanent bracelets are bracelets which are clasped together in a way which is hard to be removed hence the term permanent. Wearing a permanent bracelet is not haram in Islam for both men and women because wearing jewelry, whether it is for temporary or permanent reasons is something which Islam has never been forbidden.
1. Women during the time of the prophet (sal) used to wear Jewellery.
1) Ibn ‘Abbas was asked whether he had been present at the festival prayer along with God’s Messenger and replied, “Yes, God’s Messenger came out and prayed, then preached a sermon (no mention being made of adhan or iqama). He then went to the women, gave them an exhortation and admonition and ordered them to give alms. I then saw them putting their hands to their ears and necks and giving [some of their jewellery] to Bilal, after which Bilal and he went off to his house.’’(Bukhari and Muslim)
2) In a dream, the prophet (sal) too wore bangles.
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah's Messenger (sal) said, "We (Muslims) are the last (to come) but (will be) the foremost (on the Day of Resurrection)." Allah's Messenger (sal) further said, ''While sleeping, I was given the treasures of the world and two golden bangles were put in my hands, but I felt much annoyed, and those two bangles distressed me very much, but I was inspired that I should blow them off, so I blew them and they flew away. Then I interpreted that those two bangles were the liars between whom I was (i.e., the one of San`a' and the one of Yamama). (Sahih al Bukhari)
In this hadith, two bangles were put in the hands of the prophet (sal) which indicates that bracelets, bangles and similar jewellery is not only symbolic o women, but are also worn by men.
There is nothing haram in men and women wearing bracelets whether it is permanent or temporary.
