3 Hadith Proofs Why Wearing Branded Clothes is Not Haram
C.J Ahmed-14.06.2023
Islam is a religion of pragmatism and unlike other religions such as Christianity, Judaism,Hinduism, Budhhism, Jainism, Confucianism,Taoism,Sikhism etc, Islam is a religion of pragmatism and the pragmatic solutions give by Islam has made it the fastest growing religion in the world. There is nothing haram in wearing brandd clothes because Allah is beautiful and he loves beauty.
Wearing fine clothes from brands if you could afford is not haram because Allah (swt) loves beauty.
Wearing good clothes is a sign of Allah (swt)’s blessings on his slave.
Some might argue that wearing branded clothing is extravagance but the above hadiths prove otherwise.
Cannot Rush to Judge Muslims Based on What They Wear
Some might argue that men who wear jewellery or clothes which are worn by women such as bangles or bracelets are worn by effeminate men and this is not true because even masculine men wear bangles. Effeminacy is subjective and nowadays effeminacy is an umbrella term used to insult men based on what is accepted by society and not what is forbidden or not in Islam. We cannot tear open a man’s chest and see his intentions.
Usamah ibn Zayd reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, sent us on an expedition. In the morning we attacked Al-Huraqat of Juhaynah. I caught hold of a man and he said, “There is no God but Allah!” I stabbed him anyway. Then, it occurred to me that I should mention that to the Prophet. The Prophet said, “Did he say ‘there is no God but Allah’ but you killed him?” I said, “O Messenger of Allah, he only said it because he feared the weapon!” The Prophet said, “Did you tear open his heart to know if he meant it or not?” The Prophet continued repeating it to me until I had wished I had not embraced Islam until that day. (Sahih Muslim)
In certain African tribes for an example, men wear bangles and it is never taken as assign as effeminacy. Effeminacy is more of a perception created using thought biases in a stigmatized society which is utterly ignorant to even the bsic teachings of Islam. If Muslims are so knowledgeable in the teachings of Islam, they will never forcibly circumcised their children , both boys and girls or force their children especially girls to marry with out their consent but this barbaric practices is done as an ignorant cultural practice.
There is no evidence to prove that wearing shoes or clothing of the non-Muslims is haram . What Islam has forbidden is to imitate the non-Muslims.
