Is Eating Alpenliebe Halal in Islam?
C.J Ahmed-15.06.2023
Alpenliebe is a famous candy manufactured by the Italian confectionery, Perfetti Van Melle. It is not hram to eat Alpenliebe candies because even the prophet (sal) loved edible sweets.
Narrated `Aisha:
Allah's Messenger (sal) used to love sweet edible things and honey.(Bukhari)
Narrated `Aisha:
The Prophet (sal) used to like sweet edible things and honey.(Bukhari)
The above hadiths prve clearly that te prophet (sal) lovd edible sweets and it is a Sunnah to eat edible sweets such as honey.
Some will try to fuss over halal ingredients in some chocolates but in Islam, there is no such thing as a halal certification. If you are doubtful of the ingredients in the chocolate, you can simply say “Bismillah” and eat the chocolate.
Narrated `Aisha:
Some people said, "O Allah's Messenger (sal)! Meat is brought to us by some people and we are not sure whether the name of Allah has been mentioned on it or not (at the time of slaughtering the animals)." Allah's Messenger (sal) said (to them), "Mention the name of Allah and eat it."
Abu Bakr (rali) told us: Jareer told us, from Mughirah, from Abu Waa’il and Ibrahim, who said: When the Muslims came, they got some food from the Magians, their cheese and bread, and they ate and did not ask about that. The cheese was described to ‘Umar (rali) and he said: Mention the name of Allah over it and eat it.
(Narrated by Ibn Abi Shaybah-5/130 and Imam ibn Hibban graded it as an authentic hadith because the narrators are of Bukhari and Muslim)
Eating Alpenliebe sweets is not haram for a Muslim.
