C.J Ahmed-21.04.2023
Magnetic earrings are earring which are attached to the earlobe using a magnetic attachments and the advantage here is that there is no need of piercing he ears which is invasive and painful. Magnetic earrings are earrings and wearing earrings is not haram for men due to the following reasons,
Actions are According to Intentions
There are some who view everything with a “haram” lens will find fault with an adult men wearing earrings but as long it is with good intention and not to imitate women, it is not haram.
Umar bin al-Khattab (rali) narrated that the prophet (sal) said,
"Actions are according to intentions, and everyone will get what was intended. Whoever migrates with an intention for Allah and His messenger, the migration will be for the sake of Allah and his Messenger. And whoever migrates for worldly gain or to marry a woman, then his migration will be for the sake of whatever he migrated for." (Bukhari and Muslim)
Cannot Judge Men Based What TheyWear
Some might argue that men who wear earrings are effeminate men and this is not true because even masculine men wear earrings. We cannot tear open a man’s chest and see his intentions.
Usamah ibn Zayd reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, sent us on an expedition. In the morning we attacked Al-Huraqat of Juhaynah. I caught hold of a man and he said, “There is no God but Allah!” I stabbed him anyway. Then, it occurred to me that I should mention that to the Prophet. The Prophet said, “Did he say ‘there is no God but Allah’ but you killed him?” I said, “O Messenger of Allah, he only said it because he feared the weapon!” The Prophet said, “Did you tear open his heart to know if he meant it or not?” The Prophet continued repeating it to me until I had wished I had not embraced Islam until that day. (Sahih Muslim)
In certain African and India ann tribes, men wear earrings and it is accepted in that culture and the rgument that earrings are only for women is a false argument which has no basis in Islam.
Islam is Silent on Men Wearing Earrings
The argument that Islam forbids from men wearing earrings is only based on reasoning from the bove discussed hadiths and not from direct evidenece. Islam is completely silent on whether men can wear earrings and silece is from the mercy of Allah.
The Prophet (sal) said, “Verily Allah has obligated the obligations – so do not neglect them. And He has limited the limits – so do not transgress them. And His silence about things is from His mercy, not forgetfulness, so do not investigate them.”
(Hasan sahih-Ad-Darqutni No. 4/199 and Al-Baihaqi No. 10/122 a nd also graded Sahih by Sheikh Albani)
