Why Wearing Platinum is Not Haram For a Muslim Man
C.J Ahmed-07.05.2023
Platinum is a silvery white metal and using platinum in jewellery, clothes etc is not haram for men because of the principle that Islam is silent on this issue.
"The Prophet (sal) said, “Verily Allah has obligated the obligations – so do not neglect them. And He has limited the limits – so do not transgress them. And His silence about things is from His mercy, not forgetfulness, so do not investigate them.”
(Hasan sahih-Ad-Darqutni No. 4/199 and Al-Baihaqi No. 10/122 and also graded Sahih by Sheikh Albani)

Men Wearing Gold
Gold although is generally considered to be forbidden for men, still wearing gold in smaller amounts is not haram due to the below hadiths,
Mu'awiya said “God’s messenger forbade riding on panther-skins and wearing gold, except in small pieces.” (Abu Dawud and Nasai-Graded Sahih by Albani)
In another hadith a companion had a golden cup with him and the pophet (al) did not forbid keeping the gold cup.
Narrated Abdullah Ibn Abbas:
A man from Banu Sahm went out with Tamim ad-Dari and Adi ibn Badda'. The man of Banu Sahm died in the land where no Muslim was present. When they returned with his inheritance, they (the heirs) did not find a silver cup with lines of gold (in his property). The Messenger of Allah (sal) administered on oath to them. The cup was then found (with someone) at Mecca. They said: We have bought it from Tamim and Adi.
Then two men from the heirs of the man of Banu Sahm got up and swore saying: Our witness is more reliable than their witness. They said that the cup belonged to their man.
He (Ibn Abbas) said: The following verse was revealed about them: "O ye who believe! when death approaches any of you....." (Bukhari)
