YUSUF ESTES HIS BELIEFS AND SUPPORT OF THE SHIA
26/07/2019
Yusuf Estes is a popular preacher who has a large following and fan base around the world. His large following base is one we should be concerned because this large group of blind followers have been fed with a deviant Aqeada and Manhaj by Yusuf Estes who is branded as "Sheikh Yusuf Estes". Born in 1944, Ohio ,United States, and raised as a Christian, Yusuf Estes was a Christian missionary before he converted to Islam. He has been appearing in many Muslim TV channels such as Huda TV, Peace TV etc. He has founded many websites as well. One such website is the www.qtafsir.com website that is a search website for the tafsir of imam Ibn Kathir. His intentions could be sincere but no matter how sincere you are if your Aqeada is corrupted and gone astray from the Aqeada of the prophet (Sal) and his companions and the Salaf us Saliheen then it would not make that individual whom a Muslim should seek knowledge. Even terrorists like ISIS and Al-Qaeda could be sincerely loving Allah (Swt) but it is of no use if your Aqeada is deviant. The unsuspecting Muslim is fooled and brainwashed by people like Yusuf Estes and that has destroyed the hearts and minds of a Muslim and it is the duty of a Muslim who has sound knowledge in Islam and the deviant belief of this individuals to expose him. Below are some of the deviant beliefs of Yusuf Estes.
Belief About the Quran
Yusuf Estes argues that the Quran compiled as a book is gone meaning it is no more. This is what he says.
"How did we get the Quran? Do you think that Muhammad sat there and wrote it down? Do you think some people just wrote it down and passed it out? Is that what you heard? Well, if you heard that, you’re wrong. Because the Prophet “saw sallam” didn’t know how to read or write. What he heard from the Angel Jibreel he memorized and repeated, and taught to his Companions the same way.It was written at his time, but that was not considered Quran, that was called the suhuf, or mushaf – scripture. And it’s still called that today. Quran means that which is recited. What you hear being recited is the Quran. What you heard me say in Arabic, that was Quran at the time I said it, and when I stopped, it’s GONE. You got it?
(9 Points of Shahada to be a Muslim” broadcast on the Deen Show (15:10))This is a clear deviation because you are denying the authenticity of the Quran that was preserved as a mushaf by the Sahaba. Allah (Swt) says,
"O you who have believed, believe in Allah and His Messenger and the Book that He sent down upon His Messenger and the Scripture which He sent down before. And whoever disbelieves in Allah , His angels, His books, His messengers, and the Last Day has certainly gone far astray"
(Al-Quran-4:136)
Such statements of Yusuf Estes is kufr and his ignorance in Islam is clear with this statement of his. The Youtube video has since been removed citing certain violations but you can search elsewhere on Youtube or the web by typing the source I have given. Elsewhere he says,
"The Quran is not a piece of paper. It’s not something that’s written down. It
is something that is memorized and recited – it means “the recitation.”

"The word “Quran” in Arabic does not mean a book. The word for book in
Arabic is kitab. Although we refer to the kitab of Allah, meaning the Book of
Allah. When we speak of “Quran” it actually means that which is being
recited. You can not hold Quran in your hand because you can not hold a
recitation. This is in your throat, or in your heart, or in your mind. You can
hold the book that represents it, but in Arabic that’s called fus-haf, or the mus-
haf. This is the scripture of Islam."
(“Miracles of Muhammad” produced by Islam-1.net (2006). On YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzYgjC44dhA&t=3m32s at precisely 3:32 (uploaded on March 1, 2012).
"When you hold it like that and say “Quran”, its not really a oxymoron, but
it doesn’t make sense, I’m gonna tell you why. Because what you have in
your hand is a kitab, that’s a book, OK? It’s not Quran. You can’t hold Quran
in your hand. Why? “Quran” means that which is being recited. So, its like
holding up a hymnal, and saying, “This is music.” No its not! It represents
music when you put it down and start playing it. But as long as you hold it in
your hand its just a book of paper. As soon as you start singing the songs, it
becomes music. But, when I was in the music business, we’d say, “Where’s
your sheet music? It’s over there.” It’s not really sheet music, a sheet of
music? That’s funny! It... see... you catch that? They used it so long,
nobody could ever separate the word “sheet” and “music” and say anything
other than, “Yea, it’s this.”

There are many more evidence to prove the kufr of Yusuf Estes in denying that the Quran was preserved in the mushaf. Yusuf Estes shares the same beliefs of that of the south Indian preacher, P. Jainulabdeen who is famous among the Tamil speaking Muslim community in India, Srilanka, Malaysia, Middle East and elsewhere. Such a statement is kufr but calling him a kafir should not be done because he could be spilling such statements due to his ignorance and foolishness. No one should rush like the Kawarij in declaring a Muslim a kafir because the Salaf us saliheen never rushed to declare people as kafirs. The above statements of Yusuf Estes proves that he is promoting the Jahmiya creed that the Quran was created.
Accepting The Shia Ideology And Promoting It.
Yusuf Estes is telling Muslims to follow Madhhabs and he is accepting the Shia Jafari Madhhab as also acceptable. This is what he said,
"Actually, there are things that are called deviant groups, and then there are
groups which are normal, but people try to turn it into something deviant. To
be a follow of a particular jurisprudence, such as Hanafee, Maalikee, Shaafi’ee,
Hanbalee, Ja’faree, like this. This is, according to Al-Azhar University, they
ruled on these five and said that these are mathaahab. These are mathaahab
of learning how to make wudhoo’, how to pray, things like that. And if
somebody follows one or the other, that’s fine, cause you don’t have time to
become a scholar, great! If you want to go further than that, you can. But the
point here is: Those are normal groups."

This is the erroneous and deviant Aqeada of this man whom many Muslims are calling him Sheikh Yusuf Estes. This self appointed Sheikh does not even understand or know about Shiaism and it's deviancy and has just used his ignorance to talk nonsense. Yusuf Estes, when he was asked about the Shia and the Sunni, he replied,
" I want to know how come you thought youwere called “Sunnis”? I want to know why you thought you were called“Sunnis”? Now I can understand saying you’re Shafi’i because you follow Imam Shafi, Maliki, cause you follow Imam Malik, or if you said, “We’re Hanbali, we follow Imam Ahmad.”But where did you get “Sunni” from? “Shiite,” I know where they got it from! It’s Shee’ Ali, it means the supports of Ali. Yes or no? Yea, that’s what it means! It doesn’t mean they’re right, but I’m just saying that’s where the name goes. Where did you get the name Sunni? Where did you get it? You don’t know, do you? You don’t know who gave it to you, do you? But yet you say it? Is that amazing? You have no problem, “I’m a Sunni!” OK, really, where did it come from?Does it come from “Sunnah”? Are you sure? Does that mean then that you only follow Sunnah, you don’t follow the Quran? Huh? Because guess what –Shiites do have some hadith! They have a book, Al-Kaafee, which issufficient, that’s what it means, of hadith. So they take Sunnah, and they take Quran. So you gotta really be careful before you start getting into an argument with somebody, especially if they know what they’re talking about. You’ll start feeling like you’re wrong, you might be right, but you don’t have the evidence. So I recommend: Don’t get into this! And let the scholars handle it."

From the above statement of Yusuf Estes it is clear even for a child that this man, Yusuf Estes is just an ignorant layman who cannot differentiate or understand the difference between Shia and Sunni and all the ignorant Muslims who follow him have given him the title "Sheikh".Yusuf Estes was interviewed by the Shia "Ahlsonnat TV" and he clearly says in th interview,
"Do not bother about names just Muslims and in the day of Qiyama , if Allah accepts upir Islam, then what else."

According to Yusuf Estes, as long as you call your self a Muslim and curse the sahaba and do all the Bidah,Shirk and Kufr of the Shia, you still be going to paradise. All of the above proves that Yusuf Estes is a deviated person who is ignorant about the basic tenants of Islam and does not know about Aqeada or the various sects among Muslims. The Quran was compiled in to a book during the time of Abu Bakr as Siddiq (Rali) and Yusuf Estes stating that the Quran we hold is not the Quran is what the Jahmiyya sect started by the heretic, Jahm ibn Safwan promoted. Yusuf Estes is doubting and denying that the Quran was preserved by the Shaba.
May Allah(Swt) protect the Muslim Ummah from such heretics.
