This article will help many Muslim brothers and sisters who are homosexual to solve their homosexual desires in a way that will not go against Islam and will also work as a counselling plan. Have you ever been guilty of committing homosexual acts and have wanted to find an alternative for it. Remember, Allah is merciful and you have come to the right place to solve your problem which will help you enjoy gay sex without engaging in haram gay sex. Before explaining the five points why homosexuality can be enjoyed in halal ways , let us look at what the Quran and the hadiths say about homosexuality.
The Quran on homosexuality
The story of prophet Lut (alayhi) condemning the homosexuals is mentioned in the Quran as follows,
“And remember Lot (Lut) when he said to his people: “Do you commit the worst sin such as none before you have committed among creation? Indeed, you practice your lusts on men instead of women. Nay, but you are a people transgressing beyond bounds.”
(Al-Quran-7:80-81)
The people during the time of prophet Lut engaged in homosexuality but engaging in sexual relations with men instead of women and became transgressors. Prophet Lut also said,
"Do you approach males among the worlds and you leave those wives whom Allah has created for you? Nay! You are a transgressing people.”
(Al-Quran-26: 165-166)
Allah forbade homosexuality because Allah (swt) created men and women so that they would be attracted to each other. Allah says,
"And among His Signs is this, that He created for you wives from among yourselves, that you may find repose in them, and He has put between you affection and mercy. Verily, in that are indeed signs for a people who reflect".
(Al-Quran-30:21)
Allah destroyed the people of Lut for engaging in homosexuality
"Indeed, We sent upon them one blast from the sky, and they became like the dry twig fragments of an [animal] pen. The people of Lot denied the warning. Indeed, we sent upon them a storm of stones, except the family of Lot - We saved them before dawn."
(Al-Quran-54:31-34)
"O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife (Hawwa (Eve)), and from them both He created many men and women"
(Al-Quran-4:1)
Allah (swt) also says,
"And they who guard their private parts Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they will not be blamed but whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors."
(Al-Quran-23:5-7)
In the above verse Allah says that whoever seeks to sexually gratify ones needs among people beyond ones wives and concubines, then they are transgressors.
From the verses in the Quran it is clear that homosexuality is haram. Now let us take a look at what the hadiths have to say about homosexuality.
Hadith on Homosexuality
Ibn ‘Abbas narrated that Allah’s Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) stated: “The curse of Allah is upon the one who engages in the act of the People of Lut. The curse of Allah is upon the one who engages in the act of the People of Lut. The curse of Allah is upon the one who engages in the act of the People of Lūt.”
(Musnad Ahmed-Graded Sahih by Sheikh Albani and Ahmed Shakir)
Jabir (rali) narrated,
The prophet (sal) said,
“What I fear most for my followers is the actions of the People of Lūt.”
(Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah-Graded Hasan Sahih by Albani)
Ibn Abbas (Rali) narrated,
The prophet (sal) said,
“Whoever you find doing the action of the people of Loot, execute the one who does it and the one to whom it is done.”
(Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud-Graded Sahih by Albani)
It is not clearly mentioned these hadith what the actions were of the people of Lut. But one hadith clearly proves that it is intercourse. Abu Musa Al Ahari (rali) narrated,
The prophet (sal) said,
If a woman comes upon a woman, they are both adulteresses, If a man comes upon a man, then they are both adulterers
(Tabarani-Muhjam Awsat and Baihaqi-Graded Sahih by Imam Arna'ut)
The application of the Hadd punishment is only if there is clear evidence for anal sex to have taken place. There is no prescribed punishment for lesbianism unlike homosexuality and the hadith stating that the woman who comes upon a woman is an adulteress cannot be taken as a law to kill the lesbian woman because there is no direct evidence in the hadith saying to do so.
Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “A man should not look at the nakedness of another man, and a woman should not look at the nakedness of another woman. A man should not lie with another man under a single blanket, and a woman should not lie with another woman under a single blanket.”
(Sahih Muslim)
Homosexuality is a subjective and just having the feeling towards the same sex does not make someone a sinner in Islam. During the time of the prophet (Sal), there were the "Mukharratune" who were effeminate men. Such effeminacy also could be taken as a part of homosexuality in modern societies and in countries like Uganda, and elsewhere, effeminate men are subjected to death threats and beatings and sometimes killings. In Islam homosexuality that falls under legal punishment is when a male engages in anal intercourse similar to a man engaging in vaginal intercourse with a woman. Ibn Abbas (rali) narrated that when Uthman bin Maiz (rali) came to the Prophet (sal) (admitting that he had committed adultery), he (prophet (sal)) said to him, "Perhaps you have just kissed, or touched or looked (at the woman)." Ma'iz said, ‘No, O Messenger of Allah.'(Sahih al Bukhari)
Umm Salama (rali) narrated,
The Prophet (sal) came to me while there was an effeminate man sitting with me, and I heard him (i.e. the effeminate man) saying to `Abdullah bin Abi Umaiya, "O `Abdullah! See if Allah should make you conquer Ta'if tomorrow, then take the daughter of Ghailan (in marriage) as (she is so beautiful and fat that) she shows four folds of flesh when facing you, and eight when she turns her back." The Prophet (sal) then said, "These (effeminate men) should never enter upon you (O women!)." Ibn Juraij said, "That effeminate man was called Hit."
Narrated Hisham: The above narration and added extra, that at that time, the Prophet, was besieging Taif. (Bukhari)
Abu Hurayrah (rali) narrated:
An effeminate man who had dyed his hands and feet with henna was brought to the Prophet (sal). He asked: What is the matter with this man? He was told: "Messenger of Allah! He imitates the look of women." So he issued an order regarding him and he was banished to an-Naqi'. The people said: Messenger of Allah! Should we not kill him? He said: I have been prohibited from killing people who pray. Abu Usamah said: Naqi' is a region near Medina and not a Baqi'.
(Abu Dawud-Graded Sahih by Albani)
The above hadith is used by some as evidence to prove that men cannot put on henna. This is not what the hadith actually says. The man was banished because he had dyed his hands and feet with henna to resemble women and if henna was put on the hands or feet not to resemble women, then that is allowed because there is no direct clear hadith evidence where the prophet (sal) forbade men from dying there body with henna.
The other important thing that needs to be understood is that the prophet (sal) had commanded Muslims to seek the most minimal possible application of Hudud laws. He commanded to avoid legal penalties as much as possible.
Aisha (Rali) narrated that the prophet (Sal) said,
"Avoid applying the legal penalties from the Muslims as much as possible, if he has a way out then leave him to his way, for if the Imam makes a mistake in forgiving it would be better than making mistake in punishment."
(Tirmidhi-Graded Sahih by Imam Suyuti and Hakim)
In another hadith, the prophet (Sal) said,
“The most restrained of people in killing are the people of faith.”
Musnad Ahmed-Graded Sahih by Ahmed Shakir)
The Hadd punishment on homosexuality should only be meted out if there are eye witnesses proving that anal intercourse between them occurred and the punishment is meted out only in a country where the Shariah is established and it should be meted by the authority such as a ruler. Abdullah ibn Amr (rali) reported:
The prophet (sal) said,
“Pardon the legal punishments between yourselves, for whatever offense reaches me must be punished.”
(Abu Dawud-Graded Sahih by Albani)
Islam encourages avoiding meting out the legal punishments as much as possible and that also includes homosexuality.
Abu Hurayrah (rali) reported:
The prophet (sal) said,
“Avoid applying legal punishments as long as you find an
excuse to avoid them.”
(Ibn Majah-Graded Hasan Sahih by Imam Suyuti)
Ibrahim Al-Nakha’i reported: Umar ibn Al-Khattab, (rali), said,
“That I relax the legal punishments is more beloved to me than applying them with doubts.”
(Musannaf ibn Abi Shaybah-Graded Sahih by Abdurrahman as Sakhawi)
Umar (rali) was the most strict when applying the legal punishments and even Umar (rali) preferred relaxing the legal punishments. Anas (rali) narrated,
The prophet (Sal) said,
“The most compassionate of my ummah towards my ummah is Abu Bakr; the strictest of them in adhering to the command of Allah is ‘Umar"
(Tirmidhi and Graded Sahih by Albani)
Also mention about the ruling on adultery and the Hadd is intercourse by putting the penis inside the vagina. The Hadd punishment for a homosexual is if he has intercourse by inserting his penis inside the anus and kissing, sensual touching, oral sex or any other forms of sexual acts will not carry the Hadd punishment. Imam Abu Dawud mentioned a hadith under the the book of Hadd (legal punishments) in a narration narrated by Ibn Mas’ud (rali),
A man came to the Prophet (sal) and said:
"I contacted directly a women at the furthest part of the city (i.e., Medina), and I did with her everything except sexual intercourse. So here I am; inflict any punishment you wish. Thereupon ‘Umar said: Allah has concealed your fault; it would have been better if you also had concealed it yourself. The Prophet (sal) sent men after him. (When he came) he recited the verse: “And establish regular prayers at the two ends of the day and at the approaches of the night. . .” up to the end of the verse. A man from the people got up and asked: Is it particular to him, Messenger of Allah, or for the people in general? He replied: It is all the people."
(Abu Dawud-Graded Sahih by Albani)
On the other hand, A Muslims should not spread the sins he knows of another Muslim to others. Rather he should conceal them. Ibn Umar (rali) narrated that the prophet (sal) said,
"A Muslim is a brother of (another) Muslim, he neither wrongs him nor does hand him over to one who does him wrong. If anyone fulfills his brother's needs, Allah will fulfill his needs; if one relieves a Muslim of his troubles, Allah will relieve his troubles on the Day of Resurrection; and if anyone covers up a Muslim (his sins), Allah will cover him up (his sins) on the Resurrection Day".
(Bukhari and Muslim)
From all the above mentioned hadiths it is clear that Islam encourages to let go of the legal punishments as much as possible and this shows how merciful Allah (swt) is. Now, let me explain how to enjoy gay sex in a halal way without engaging in homosexual activities with the people of same sex.
How to Enjoy Halal Gay Sex
(1).Masturbate by thinking about men
This is a great way of enjoying and protecting oneself from falling in to the sin of committing homosexuality with a man or a woman. Islam never forbade masturbation and having homosexual thoughts is not haram in Islam. Au Hurayrah (rali) narrated that the prophet (sal) said,
“Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, will forgive my ummah for whatever crosses their minds so long as they do not act upon it or speak of it.”
(Bukhari and Muslim)
Most people get thoughts of having kinky or rather more non-conservative sex such as threesomes, rape fantasies, incest and homosexual or lesbian indulgences. Such thoughts are perfectly normal and you can act out these thoughts by masturbating to them by touching yourself. You can enhance the experience by imagining that you are actually engaging in gay/lesbian sex with someone.
(2). Masturbate by watching gay/lesbian porn
I have written several articles on why watching porn is halal if it is for a necessity and you can read the complete article by clicking here https://cjislam.weebly.com/why-watching-porn-is-allowed-in-islam-for-a-necessity.html . If you have gay or lesbian tendencies and if you fear that you will fall in to sin or if you are already committing them, then do not worry because Allah (swt) is merciful and ask for forgiveness and if you cannot control your feelings then you can resort to the lesser form of evil and that is to watch gay/lesbian porn and masturbate to it and that will Insha Allah protect you from zina.
(3). Masturbate by watching gay/lesbian anime porn
Most Muslims try to argue that watching cartoon or in other words, anime or 3-D porn is haram because it is the same as watching real life porn, This analogy has no basis in Islam because even before the messenger of Allah (sal), there existed drawings of men and women engaging in explicit sex as proven from archaeological findings in Greece and elsewhere. Even in such a scenario, the prophet (sal) was silent and this silence is clear evidence that cartoon related pornography is halal in Islam. You can clearly engage in masturbation by watching cartoon related gay and lesbian porn. If you can afford, you can also use modern technological innovations such as a VR headset to enjoy such porn as well. For more details on why anime porn is halal, you can click here https://cjislam.weebly.com/why-watching-porn-is-allowed-in-islam-for-a-necessity.html
(4). Use gay sex dolls as an alternative
Sex toys have enhanced and revolutionized the way people enjoy sex. You can buy a male or female sex doll enjoy have gay sex by fantasizing and actually engaging in real sex. Having sex with sex dolls or anything else such as sex robots is similar to drinking wine or bear without alcohol. In many cases the urge to have sex with the same sex will Insha Allah diminish once you start practicing these tips.
(5). Use gay sex toys to fantasize your feeling
There are many sex toys which have been invented and you can use all these sex toys to fantasize as if you are having sex with a person of the same sex. Take the butt plug for an example, this sex toy can be used along with a dildo or a rabbit vibrator to enjoy yourself and have multiple orgasms which will Insha Allah help you diminish and control your urges to have sex with a person of the same sex. You can also use other sex toys and gadgets and sex machines and none of them are haram in Islam. You can check out my article on why sex toys and dolls are halal by clicking here https://cjislam.weebly.com/top-reasons-why-sex-toys-and-sex-dolls-are-halal.html
Conclusion
Islam is an easy religion and using the above mentioned tips are at your sole discretion. Some might try to argue that what Islam has thought us is to either get married or to fast. This argument is not true because neither marriage or fasting is an obligation and trying to force fit a wrong opinion of marriage been an obligation has no basis whatsoever. Not all Muslims prefer getting married or to fast and in such a scenario it is counterproductive to try to argue that one must either marry or fast. No one is born a homosexual and there no scientific evidence to prove such a thing. Every single person in this world is born in the natural fitrah and it is the environment on which the individual grows that brainwashes he or she in to adopting such practices and this is proven by science as well. I hope in that this article will help to solve the many issues that are face by the Muslim who is either engaging or has homosexual tendencies. My advice is, Allah is always helping you and never be overwhelmed by unnecessary guilt or shame because this could cause even more psychological issues.
